Parks and protected areas contribute to improved individual and community health and well-being. However, new research by Keep Britain Tidy has found that more than three quarters (77%) of people say they would actively avoid a park if it was poorly maintained or if they felt unsafe.
The Skill Mill continuously improve parks and contribute to their maintenance whilst reducing reoffending and improving community safety. The research also found that 85% of people experience a positive effect on their mental state after spending time outside in a green space. The Skill Mill teams carry out work in parks all year round, benefiting the wider community and making parks a pleasant space to spend time in.
