It's been a fantastic week for The Skill Mill. We're delighted to have won Environmental Social Enterprise of the Year at the UK Social Enterprise Awards.

This award belongs to our wonderful team and every single young person who's pulled on their work boots, picked up litter from waterways, planted trees and hedges, built fish passes, cleared river footpaths, and shown the world what second chances really look like.
It also recognises our day-to-day environmental work alongside our young people, as well as organising World Cleanup Day across the UK every 20th September – a reflection of our mission to create healthier environments and empower young people to lead positive change.
With stiff competition from hundreds of entrants across 15 categories, this prestigious prize recognises the brightest stars in our brilliant social enterprise sector, so it's a real honour to win.
Upon winning the award, David Parks, Director at The Skill Mill, said: "To get this award is just huge. We're massive fans of Social Enterprise UK and really appreciate the support we get."

We collected our trophy at a glittering ceremony which took place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall at London's Southbank Centre on 26th November.
The theme of the evening was a Festival of Hope, and the ceremony was a real celebration of the entrepreneurs, the makers, the community builders, the job creators, the radicals, and the dreamers who make up the social enterprise movement.

We send heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and finalists – it's been an honour to be shortlisted alongside you.
