A group from the company recently spent an afternoon collecting litter from the roadside of the B1416, close to the Woodsmith Mine site. Moving forward, Sirius will work with a team of young people from North Yorkshire Skill Mill, to keep the road verges around the area tidy.
“Litter dropping is a notorious problem in the area, particularly in the summer months during the tourism season,” said Gareth Edmunds, External Affairs Director for Sirius. “The extent of the problem was confirmed by the fact that we collected a total of forty bags in just one afternoon, which horrified our team, most of whom live locally and are very proud of the area.”
