#WhoKnew – Social Enterprise Day 2021

Thursday 11th November is Social Enterprise Day, a campaign ran by Social Enterprise UK (SEUK). The Skill Mill is a Social Enterprise, and a certified member of SEUK. We are taking part in Social Enterprise Day, to celebrate the amazing impact which Social Enterprises make!

The strength of #WhoKnew is its ability to unite a global social enterprise community in a simple online action showing the strength and scale of the social enterprise movement. You don’t need to be a social enterprise to take part in the campaign. If you work to support social enterprises through bringing them into your supply chains, social investment or training you can also get involved and use the campaign to raise the profile of your work.

The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise which provides employment opportunities for young people aged between sixteen and eighteen. We employ only ex-offenders, actively reducing reoffending whilst increasing engagement, participation, employability and educational levels of the young people to increase their life chances. Each young person receives six months paid employment, invaluable practical real work experience, a nationally recognised qualification, and further opportunities for progression with local companies at the end of their time with The Skill Mill.
