The Skill Mill Surrey: Working Together for Woking Event


The Skill Mill Surrey will be attending the Working Together for Woking event on Thursday 4th November at Woking Leisure Centre.


Over 50 charities and community organisations will be getting together to find out more about each other, and how we can all work together to support residents of Woking. The event is being hosted by Volunteer Woking, who aim to deliver a healthy local voluntary sector for the community.


The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise which provides employment opportunities for young people aged between sixteen and eighteen. We employ only ex-offenders, actively reducing reoffending whilst increasing engagement, participation, employability and educational levels of the young people to increase their life chances. Our site in Surrey has been operational since 2020, and has so far had fantastic outcomes for our young people. You can come and chat to us at the event. Full details are below:


Location.

Woking Leisure Centre Main Sports Hall, GU22 9BA.


Guests:

Please feel free to invite anyone to this event who you feel will benefit from being there. They will not need an Eventbrite ticket.


Timings.

The event will run from 10am to 1pm. The Deputy Mayor and Julie Fisher will open the event at 10am. After that everyone is free to network until the event close.


Refreshments.

There is a Costa Coffee in the front Reception at Woking Leisure Centre which you can use at your leisure. This has been known to have busy periods so alternatively please feel free to bring your own.


Parking.

Leisure Centre Car park. Please leave a note on your car to say that you are attending Working Together For Woking as the car park is monitored and charges apply after 3 hours of parking. We have made Parking Services aware of the event so leaving a note on your car will be fine. If you can, please take a picture with the time just to be sure.


Covid-19.

We ask that all attendees take a Lateral Flow test the night before or day of the event. If you are showing any of the symptoms of the virus we ask that you do not attend. There will be a one way system in place at the event with hand sanitiser at every exit, stalls and toilets.
