August 2026 Maintenance and Improvements at Cromwell Canal

Over the past fortnight, the following maintenance and improvement works have been carried out at Cromwell Canal:

• Lock gates: Paint was scraped and sanded from the rails and rounded edges of the lock gates in preparation for maintenance.

• Mooring points: Mud and weeds left behind by previous flooding were cleared to improve access and usability.

• Cromwell Lock sign: Overgrown hedges were cut back and accumulated dirt was cleared from around the sign to improve its visibility.

• Pathway: The path was cleared and re-edged to make it clearer, more accessible and safer for users.
