Bricklaying Project in Barking and Dagenham June 2026

In the first half of June, our team in Barking and Dagenham was busy bricklaying around three large planters:

• Mixing cement and sand whilst adding water to the correct consistency.

• Laying the first row of bricks, using a bricklaying line and level to ensure the bricks were aligned and level.

• Using a trowel to lay cement on top of and to the side of the bricks.

• Using bolsters and hammers to cut bricks.

• Cleaning the tools and tidying the area at the end of the working day.

Also, team was visited from the B&D YJS HoS. Young people speak with her about the work and our Skill Mill experience so far.
