Stephen Ridout

An alumni of Whitchurch High School, Cardiff, Steve went on to study a HND in Mechanical & Production Engineering. He has worked for a Cable TV company, splicing and testing for a Fibre Optic company and as a telephone engineer, both for British Telecom and as a contractor. He studied a HND in Health and Social Care as a mature student, which led to him gaining 25 years experience with the YJS. Steve has strived, working collaboratively, to promote rehabilitation, reduce offending and address the underlying vulnerabilities, such as, trauma, mental health needs and neurodivergence that drive challenging behaviour in children. He played rugby and cricket at school and now likes to spend time in nature walking, reading and listening to music. Steve is the Cwm Taf (South Wales) Skill Mill Supervisor.
